Dr. Craig Moorman

Recognized by the Washingtonian as one of the Top Mental Health Professionals in the Washington, D.C. area, Dr. Craig Moorman is a distinguished therapist, published researcher, and expert keynote speaker. With over twenty-seven years of experience in the field of mental health counseling, Dr. Moorman has earned recognition for his compassionate and results-oriented approach to therapy. He has presented three papers for the Association of American and Family Therapy, conducted learned society research papers, published in the Washington Parent Magazine, lectured at George Mason University, and given countless other presentations on the topics of mental health, parenting, social systems, and family change. He is the Owner and Co-founder of Finding Solutions Counseling Centers with office locations in the DC metroplex. Dr. Moorman is passionate about helping individuals understand their current life stage, define their goals, and embark on a journey of positive change.

Pastor Roy Dowdy

As Care and Counseling Pastor, Roy oversees the Assimilations Team, which encompasses the Connections, Hospitality, Counseling, Outreach, and Care Teams, as well as our eGroup system. He first joined Expectation’s staff as Children’s Ministry Pastor in 2002 before leaving in 2010 to plant a church in Burlington, Ontario. He accepted an invitation to rejoin the staff in 2015 as our Care and Counseling Pastor. Roy has earned dual Bachelor’s Degrees in Bible and Music as well as a Master’s Degree in Family and Marriage Therapy. He holds an inactive membership as a Registered Psychotherapist in the Province of Ontario and is an Affiliate Member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy. He’s worked as a pastoral counselor for 11 years and licensed clinical counselor for 5 years. He is working toward completing the hours required for Clinical Membership with AAMFT. His practice focuses on families, couples, and individuals working from a Family Systems perspective with a faith-based approach.
