Serving Others

At Expectation Church, our mission is simple: we exist

SO THAT PEOPLE FAR FROM GOD WILL EXPERIENCE FAITH IN CHRIST.

  • Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms… so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ.

    1 Peter 4:10-11

Jesus was intentional about caring for the poor, the sick, and the lonely. He consistently demonstrated love and compassion for the most vulnerable and outcast, those that others overlooked.

We follow Jesus' example in each of our serving opportunities, by ministering to those who are hurting and in need of the hope that only comes from Him.

One of the primary ways we pursue that mission is through serving others.

This goes beyond serving in the nursery, running a camera, or greeting guests as they walk through our doors on Sunday morning. If we are to fulfill our mission, we must follow Jesus’ example and go out into our community as Jesus did, and serve whenever, wherever needed.

H2 Team

The H2 Team ministers to those in extraordinary circumstances like illness or grief by visiting them in their homes, hospitals, and senior or assisted living facilities.

Facets

FACETS serves individuals and families in Fairfax County who suffer from the effects of poverty.

On select Wednesdays, we join them in serving the community by feeding families and individuals who are currently without a home.

Expectation Church partners with Fairfax FISH (For Immediate Sympathetic Help) to provide assistance to individuals in crisis.

One Wednesday a month, our volunteers take calls from Fairfax County social workers and arrange for grocery delivery for these individuals in need.

Meal Train

Our meal train provides meals or restaurant gift cards when families require assistance due to surgery, hospitalization, or family crises.

Project Team

Expectation Church’s building is open and used almost every day of the week. The Projects Team team keeps our campus looking and functioning at its best and setting up for events.

We cover needs such as organizing, decorating, gardening, and landscaping. In addition, we sometimes provide these services to individuals within or outside our church community.

Daytime Childcare for eGroups

We sometimes have eGroups meet during the day that need help with childcare.

By providing childcare, individuals can attend who otherwise would not be able.
